Description
NORTHFIELD, MN — The historic Archer House Inn in Northfield will soon be demolished, according to a report by The Minneapolis Star Tribune.
The structure was build in 1877 and suffered heavy damage in a fire last year, the publication reported. The Historic Preservation Commission voted 5-2 on the demolition, agreeing with an engineering report by the owners that saving the building wasn't feasible, the report said.
The Archer House is listed National Register of Historic Places, being built after residents famously stopped a robbery attempt by the Jesse James gang, according to the report.
