EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Who says money doesn't grow on trees? The coveted money tree worth $250 hidden in the community by the Evergreen Park Chamber of Commerce was found at noon Saturday -- with two hours to spare. Dozens of residents prowled the streets in the chamber's first ever Money Tree Hunt. The hunt started 9 a.m. at the First National Bank of Evergreen Park, where the first clue was unveiled. As the clues were revealed, participants moved on to the next location. The treasure hunt was designed to acquaint residents with Evergreen Park's vibrant business community, and to remind people to support the village's economy by shopping local all year long. Mark and Jessica Biszewski the found the Money Tree ticket hidden under a magnet attached to an air conditioning unit outside Red Wing Shoes, 3347 W. 95th St. Mark is a lifelong Evergreen Park resident and a police officer for the Village of Evergreen Park.
