Description

Kettlebell Basics is a course for those wanting to master basic kettlebell movements for their own training, or to better serve clients. Course overview: The course covers five basic kettlebell exercises: goblet squat, swing, clean, overhead press, and getup. We also talk over exercise programming with these movements. The attached powerpoint covers the course content and how it is organized. The course is one day, and will take 5 and a half hours, excluding our lunch break. Trainers who are eager to learn about proper form when using kettlebells, coaches who want to broaden his/her skill set in group setting and in private training, athletes who want to add kettlebells into his/her training regimen, healthcare professionals looking to add kettlebells into his/her “tool box” for use on clients are all target audiences for this course. Course objectives: At the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate proficient execution of the goblet squat, swing, clean, overhead press, and getup. They will also gain a general understanding of exercise programming for various populations using kettlebells. Students will also learn to assess the kettlebell movements covered in class, and provide appropriate coaching feedback to safely and effectively execute each lift.
