Trump played golf for two reasons.
1. He was a selfish lazy president.
2. Trump profited tens of thousands of dollars from the taxpayers EVERY time he played golf at one of his own resters.
When Trump played at his resorts, a security detail would arrive a day or two prior to Trump. These secret service meant would block off dozens of rooms to "protect" the president. all of these amenities and all of the amenities for the secret service and Trumps entire entourage would be paid for by the taxpayers. Trump resorts charged a higher rate for these amenities to the U.S. the n he would a guy off the street.
According the the NYT Trumps first year of playing golf, 84 times netted Trump 2.9 million dollars during trumps first year in office.
