Description

Welcome To Your Sonic Sanctuary Join us for our end-of-year listening party at Saint Joaquin. This one is a biggie and we really can't wait to share this recording in our sonic sanctuary. The all-star collaboration between a producer, a saxophonist, and a symphony is a celestial event, and we couldn't let the year finish without bringing this incredible work to the hifi system (and your ears). More details soon! FAQ What is a listening session? Listening parties are sensory experiences that are pretty hard to top. At a listening session or listening party, a group of music heads will gather to hear an album, single, or entire music programme played contextually, communally, uninterrupted, and in the best sonic detail possible. It’s about bringing back the lost art of deep listening. We want you to hear with your ears in the same way you read with your eyes, to absorb the flavor as you would a swig of your favorite wine washing over your taste buds. What does my ticket include? The ticket fee includes entry and your table in a private event where you’ll be sharing space with like-minded music lovers. You'll also have access to exclusive merchandise, and each ticket includes a music programme of course, with detailed information about the supplemental and focus music of the night including release dates, session credits, a brief history about the focus music, and other info that collectors will love. It doubles as a great keepsake from a unique night out. How is the event structured? The evening will start with a conversation about the hi-fi system, the process of finding and collecting vinyl, connecting with history through records, and the significance of deep listening in the current digital age. Then we’ll get into the grooves. We'll play a few context records and talk briefly about the recordings before each track during the first hour, building up to the focus music. After a short intermission, we’ll dive into the focus music in the second hour. Why is there a no-phone policy? We want to invite people to slow down and switch off. Events like this exist to remind us to nourish our most starved sense: hearing. Silence is paramount at a listening session. We ask guests to mute their social media pings, and to keep conversations low and to a minimum. Snapping photos and posting stories is distracting for you and the rest of the group. Feel free to chat and take as many photos as you’d like during intermission, and at the end of the presentation. Vinyl Culture • Hifi Audio Experience • Monthly Listening Sessions • Fresno CA
