Learn all about the history of the Mansion, the Candler Family, and the evolution of Callanwolde Fine Arts Center Callanwolde History ToursCallanwolde was the home of the family of Charles Howard Candler (1878-1957) from 1920 until 1959. From 1959 on, Callanwolde experienced a number of evolutions before becoming a fine arts center in 1972. During this 1 hour tour, learn the mysteries and histories of the Callanwolde Mansion, the Candler Family, Callanwolde's connections to Emory University, Coca-Cola, and its recent history as a fine arts center. You will learn both the architectural history of the Tudor and neo-Gothic Mansion, but also its social history, and why Callanwolde has become such a beloved place to so many. Tours are held daily at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Please meet in the Great Hall lobby before your allotted time where you will begin the tour. --- Add-onsFor your convenience, purchase any of the add-on items (drink tickets, snacks, crafts) in advance to avoid waiting in line by adding them to your order at checkout. Check in at the welcome desk to retrieve your items. No outside food or beverages permitted. Tickets are non-refundable. For this reason, masks will be required upon entry into the Callanwolde Mansion and must remain on at all times when not eating and drinking for the duration of time indoors. Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth. By attending Winter House and/or purchasing performance or workshop tickets, you acknowledge that even if the reported risk of contracting COVID-19 is diminished, by attending this event you still may be at elevated risk of contracting COVID-19, and you accept this risk.
