Learn about plants native to the San Gabriel Mountains and foothills, their medicinal properties, and get hands-on experience planting. Matt Teutimez, Tribal Biologist, specialist in ethnobotanical and cultural uses of native plants, and member of the Kizh-Gabrieleño tribe, will be presenting a workshop on edible and medicinal plants that are native to Monrovia and the surrounding region at the Monrovia Native Plant Demonstration Garden. Learn about plants native to the San Gabriel Mountains and foothills, their medicinal properties, and get hands on experience planting native plants. There is a suggested donation of $10 to support the growth and upkeep of the Native Demonstration Garden. If you do not have the means to donate but still want to attend, please use the "no donation admission" ticket. This workshop is meant for anyone with an interest in plants, native plants, or the history of our region. All ages are welcome and no prior knowledge is assumed!
