Three deaf men with some other disabling conditions are in need of an additional support person to assist them in Community Living Support (CLS). We are looking for a person can communicate with American Sign Language or is willing to learn, who will be willing to participate with the current staff in supporting either these three men or possibly supporting additional similarly affected hearing men. Your work will likely include shopping, cooking, cleaning, helping plan social and recreational experiences or other activities included in the annual plan made foe each person. You will be asked to participate in a weekly discussion with two other CLS workers to develop a weekly plan. It will be important that you have a car and provide transportation for some of the activities ($.50/mile reimbursement). I am not looking for a specific set of skills, but rather a kind person who would like to bring out the best in the less fortunate. This would be ideal for a retired or disabled person who needs a little extra income. Anyone will be considered. You will be working part time at about $16.00/hour with a flexible schedule (12+ hours per week) determined in consultation with the clients you are working for and other staff.
