"Sleigh Ride"! Experience music of the holiday season with the exceptional Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble. The program features three versions of Sleigh Ride: the well-known Leroy Anderson tune, the 18th century sleigh ride minuet by Mozart, and the 1934 sleigh ride movement from “Lieutenant Kije” by Sergei Prokofiev. But wait…there’s more! From a wide array of Christmas carols (It Came Upon The Midnight Clear, Stille Nacht, Masters in this Hall, On This Day Earth Shall Ring, What Child Is This, and more) to the coquettish “Santa Baby” and the charming “White Christmas,” we will send you into night with the warmth of delightful music. This concert series is the debut of PHE’s new Artistic Director, Lynn G. Atkins, Jr. *Tickets are free but a $10 minimum donation at the door is appreciated to ensure that concerts of this caliber can continue to be offered to our community.
