Here are the top stories today in Burlington: Traffic delays, reduced parking, and lane shifts are expected on a long stretch of Main Street in downtown Burlington this week. The city's public works department said contractors will need to access manholes between Battery Street and South Union Street beginning today through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Workers will be scoping out sewers and utility lines ahead of major roadwork later, with a final round of utility inspections likely in late December. (U.S. News & World Report)The holiday tree at Church Street Marketplace holds a special meaning for the Burlington family who donated it. Kathy Weinheimer of South Burlington donated the family's giant blue spruce tree to the city this year in memory of her late husband, Scott, who lost his life to suicide. Weinheimer hopes the tree will serve as a symbol to raise awareness of suicide in the local community.
