Click here to get started. Here are the top stories today in Myrtle Beach: Horry County Police responded to a shooting near the Carolina Forest area on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at Augusta Plantation off River Oaks Drive. As of this posting, there was limited information available. If anyone has info, they can call the department at (843) 915-8477. (WPDE) (WBTW) (WMBF)On Friday night, an armed robbery occurred at Family Dollar at 1105 North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. The robbery took place around 7:30 p.m. The suspect demanded items and money at gunpoint, took those items, and departed the premises. Myrtle Beach Police are investigating, and have images of the suspect from a store security camera. Anyone with info can call (843) 918-1382 and use reference report number 21-021782. (WMBF)Five people were displaced from their home due to a fire in Little River during the early-morning hours of Saturday. Horry County Fire Rescue responded to Woodridge Circle at around 6:00 a.m.. There were no injuries, and the five people affected are being assisted by the American Red Cross of South Carolina. Calabash, North Carolina Fire Department also responded to the call. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. (WPDE) On-call firefighters in Little River celebrated the holiday as a family while handling a large number of calls before 4:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The four crew on duty enjoyed turkey and fixin's that were donated to them by the Lions Club of Little River. (Myhorrynews) Shoppers on the Grand Strand on Friday noticed a much more "normal" feeling as compared to this time a year ago. Those out and about on Black Friday said it was crowded, but there was a more relaxed atmosphere. There were some long lines at Bass Pro Shops where some waited up to an hour at the checkout registers. Store managers say last year was a good year for Bass Pro, despite the impact of COVID, but this year will see a definite increase.
