Description
a night to rejoice together as a community while we learn, explore, evolve, empathize, and connect through the Cross-Cultural Awareness meal Thank you for your interest in our event!glow + gather and KindNest are thrilled to come together to host an unforgetable evening with Factotum Brewhouse Nov 22 @5PMThe dinner series provides an inclusive platform for conscious focus around our cross-cultural competencies and how we can learn and grow together as a community by celebrating and discussing what makes us different and unique. We all have something amazing to offer in this world and each culture has its own history rich of tradition which has evolved as people have made their way here to where we all live today. Aside from learning about a life different to your own, we strive to discover ways in which we have "americanized" that culture, intenralized biases, areas of cultural approriation (perhaps unknowingly), and areas we want to choose to focus on moving forward. Each Dinner series will serve to highlight a different culture of people, as well as raising awareness for local organizations creating ripples of change in our community. The Nov event will focus on Diwali!!!!!!!This series we will be working in partnership with the SafeHouse Denver who offers resources to victims of domestic violence which we know is evermore increasingly important due to the circumstances we find ourselves inw ith Covid. What is Diwali? Diwali is the festival of lights; celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, and the victory of good over evil. Diwali is celebrated with lighting oil lamps (diyas), candles, and lights throughout the home. Friends and family gather for large feasts, and sweets are exchanged amongst friends, family, and neighbors. Rangoli, colorful art made by using colored rice flour and flowers, is created on the ground outside the entryways of homes. Rangoli is believed to invoke positive energy, while clearing negative energies for the home and family. Diwali is celebrated throughout India during October or November, with regional variations. We hope you can join us for a special evening to connect. All our love in this holiday season, KindNest & glow+gather Menu: (subject to change*) ticket comes with 2 drinks included in your meal!
