BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Authorities were investigating reports of anti-Semitic flyers that were posted to the front yards of people's homes in Beverly Hills, on the first day of Hanukkah, officials said. The reports prompted police to increase patrols throughout Beverly Hills on Sunday. Just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, a resident reported that he had found a flyer in his front yard, the Beverly Hills Police Department reported. "Police surveyed the area and discovered that the flyers, enclosed in plastic bags containing rice (for weight), were distributed to homes in several blocks in the northeast area of the city," police wrote in a statement. The flyers in question were each a 8.5'' x 11'' sheet of paper, containing "propaganda style hate speech related to the COVID pandemic and the Jewish people," police said. Police and Public Works personell surveyed the area and collected each flyer. "On this first day of Hanukkah, the Police Department will be providing additional patrols throughout the City to ensure a safe holiday season," police said.
