There are many ads this time of year for adopting weeks-old dogs. However tempting it is for the holidays, please do not adopt them too young. The best weaning time is eight weeks of age. Those weaned early suffer from negative physical, social, and mental and emotional defects. Please do not take them home too early. These precious babies need their mother in those early days!
