SMITHTOWN, NY — A United States Air Force member deployed in the Middle East has turned to Smithtown-based Guardians of Rescue for help relocating a cat he met while deployed back home to the U.S. with him. Staff Sergeant Madd, whose deployment is coming to a close, is seeking to bring Stan the cat home with him. Guardians of Rescue needs help and donations from the public to make it happen. "We first met this cat when he hung around the barracks and I started feeding him," Staff Sergeant Madd said via news release. "He's great with people, plays well, and I have been taking care of him. We've all gotten pretty close to him, and my family is excited for Stan to become the newest member if we can get him to safety in the U.S." For those who would like to donate to help Sgt.
