POSITION SUMMARY Perform all tasks of a large-scale commercial plant cultivation environment including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, topping, temperature control, airflow, waste disposal, and organic preventative sprays. MUST HAVE A VALID MED BADGE CORE JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Flowering Area Maintenance: maintain and control the designated area and perform the following tasks: a. Watering b. Fertilizing c. Pruning d. Propagation e. Integrated Pest Management 2. Execute preventative maintenance to eliminate mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, etc. Apply the principles of Integrated Pest Management in scouting for insect, disease and infestations; identification of insect pest specifies and monitoring of pest populations. Apply or release chemical and biological materials to manage insects and diseases. 3. Assist faculty and staff in research projects, including constructing, installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical devices and/or equipment, and the application of chemicals or biological materials. 4. Maintain greenhouse facility, including installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized cooling/heating, ventilation, irrigation, and/or other equipment. 5. Determine settings and ranges for environmental control equipment and operate such equipment, including computerized programs. 6. Manicure live medical marijuana plants to encourage better growth 7. Maintain plant material for research and testing. 8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment 9. Maintain records and reports as required. 10. Test growing media to evaluate pH and soluble salts, including collecting, preparing and processing of growing media and plant tissue samples. 11. Prepare fertilizer stock solutions, operate and calibrate fertilizer injection equipment. 12. Calibrate and maintain test instruments and spraying equipment. 13. Use and maintain personal protective equipment. 14. Assist in the planning and production of plant stock for special events as required. 15. Facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary. 16. Perform related duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS REQUIRED • Fill in as any cultivation staff when needed. • Assist with research, communications, or any other assigned projects/task. JOB TASKS (The following tasks are not a complete itemization of job duties, but a guideline to scheduling workload.) • Daily: o Maintain flowering area including watering fertilizing, pruning and propagation. o Integrated Pest Management including spraying, monitoring, and management. o Assist staff in research projects. o Maintain facility and equipment. JOB QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). • Excellent computer, mathematic, language, and reasoning skills. • Knowledge and familiarity with Cannabis. • Familiarity with warehouse procedures. • Works in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity. • At least 21 years of age • Demonstrated passion for serving the cannabis community. • Ability to work within a team and without. • Must be able to pass a background check. • Must not have been convicted of any felony offense. • Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment. • Organization and planning skills • Ability to build relationships • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. • Basic weights and measurement skills, ability to operate a scale.
