The ABV Network is pleased to offer you a bourbon bucket list experience of being distiller for a day at some of the top US distilleries! You and a guest (this ticket purchase is good for two people) get the rare opportunity to take your love for bourbon to the next level by becoming distiller for a day at Deerhammer Distilling. Depending on what's happening that day, you might find yourself milling, mashing in, adding backset, adding enzymes, cutting to hearts, sampling for a future blend at the rackhouse, cutting off the tails, pitching yeast, or emptying/filling barrels. Lenny Eckstein, the owner and distiller for Deerhammer is committed to making his distillery the ultimate hands-on whiskey-making experience for participants. How does he plan on accomplishing that? Well, he's going to personally consult with anyone buying a ticket and allow that person to set the mash bill for the day. So you can work with the grain he has on-hand (corn, wheat, oats, chocolate malt, crystal malt) to come up with something for a batch or, possibly even bring in a few bags of another grain from our supplier in Denver if you really want to do something different. This would be a bonus experience/side-trip prior to coming to the distillery when yoou would pick-up a few bags of grain from his supplier in Denver. Again, that level of commitment is required, but you have options based on how Lennry is setthing this up. Distillery Location: 321 E Main St, Buena Vista, CO 81211 Check-In Time: 8:00 a.m. Purchase Includes: A ticket for two people to enjoy the hands-on experience of being distiller for a day. In addition to working with the distiller making whiskey, you get to go to lunch with the distiller/team and enjoy a tasting of their products led by the distiller. Enhance Your Ticket: You can enhance your ticket in two ways: You can add the purchase of a barrel for $150 + $5 credit card fee.You can purchase two t-shirts only available for Distiller for the Day participants (they have the Distiller for a Day logo on the front and "STAFF" on the back) for $50 (size Small - 3XL).Please note that ticket enhancements are separate transations and Steve Akley will talk to you about these in the consultation after you buy your ticket. Onsite Contact: Lenny Eckstein, Owner/Distiller Suggestion: An RV that allows guests to stay at the distillery is being added soon. In the meantime, assistant distiller Nic has a two-bedroom condo he rents that is only a few blocks from the distillery for around $100 (depending on the date it may fluctuate a bit. We can help you book that if you are interested). A few notes about this event: 1.
