Our West County based landscaping company is seeking a Senior Groundskeeper / Landscaping Generalist to help provide and maintain top quality service to our clients. Ideal candidates will have a wide-ranging knowledge of general four-season landscape care including but not limited to turf maintenance and mowing, plant and bed maintenance, fertilization, weed control, irrigation system maintenance, snow removal and ice control. Candidates must be experienced and comfortable working on large scale properties. The Senior Groundskeeper / Landscaping Generalist may work alone or with a team based on the scope of work for the day. In certain cases, we may offer flexible schedules and will discuss in further detail during an interview. We are only seeking experienced candidates with the highest attention to detail and those who will be a perfectionist in every aspect of the job. The responsibilities will vary day to day. Job Duties: The Senior Groundskeeper / Landscaping Generalist will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of customer properties. This may include: • General turf care including lawn mowing, trimming, edging and blowing of clippings. • Application of products for turf areas including preemergents, fertilizers, selective and non-selective herbicides and general use pesticides. • Application of products for ornamental beds including preemergents, fertilizers, selective and non-selective herbicides, general use pesticides and dormant oils. • Occasional installation, removal, pruning and/or other maintenance of ornamental trees, shrubs, annual/perennial flowers and mulch. • Occasional maintenance of irrigation systems including system start ups and shut downs, general repairs, system enhancements and ongoing clock/schedule maintenance. • Operating snow removal and deicing equipment during winter storms. • General management level oversight of work quality and addressing any issues as they arise. • Providing premium customer service at all times. Position Requirements: • A minimum of 5 years experience as a working landscape crew leader, lawn care supervisor, fertilizer technician, property maintenance manager or plant nursery manager. • Experience in driving commercial vehicles and pulling trailers. • Experience with all tools required for property maintenance including commercial mowing equipment, powered landscaping tools, powered fertilization spreaders and sprayers, snowplows and V-Box salters, etc. • Knowledge of processes to identify and proactively control weeds in both turf and ornamental beds with preferred (Category 3) MO pesticide license credentials. • Knowledge of the maintenance requirements for trees, plants and shrubs coupled with the ability to identify various species of plants, weeds and potential pests. • Knowledge and maintenance of irrigation systems and irrigation best practices. • Ability to proactively maintain and occasionally repair maintenance equipment and/or vehicles to both prevent and resolve issues. • Ability to perform physically demanding work under various weather conditions. • Being a team player and maintaining a 100% positive attitude at all times.
