This book tells an unforgettable America story of a poor black girl, growing up in the rural Mississippi Delta in the 1950's. The many challenges of race and gender in an era when buzz words of this were not important. Blackberry Memories chronicles her life from the cotton fields to securing degrees from Alcorn State University (her cherished Alma Mater), University of Minnesota Medical School, Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory University School of Public Health.
Blackberry Memories is dedicated to her mother, Bertha Jenkins Bachus, a well-known Mississippi quilter and includes a section showcasing many of her mother's quilts and wall hangings.
Dr. Wilson, M.D. is a famed original Golden Girl of Alcorn State University, an inventor, entrepreneur, vintner and Co-Founder of the Metro Atlanta Urban Farm in College Park Georgia. She was recently named a Georgia Top Preventive Medicine Specialist for 2021.
