CHARLOTTE, NC — Small Business Saturday 2021 is a welcome relief to store owners who saw profits fall last year during the pandemic and the absence of much of the usual foot traffic into brick and mortar stores. This year, according to the American Retail Federation, American shoppers are back and ready to peruse offerings from small businesses. According to ARF's surveys, as many as 58 million Americans are expected to patronize stores on Small Business Saturday. While that's fewer than the more than 100 million on Black Friday, it's a huge chunk of change with people mainly buying clothing, books, toys, video games, food, candy and gift cards galore. They're the folks who created Small Business Saturday, so they have a database of businessesthat have opted in to be found and shopped with. The results will include stores as well as restaurants, which you can also patronize to help support local even if you don't feel like shopping on Saturday.
