Large residential facility located on 16th Street NW with 1000+ units and various amenities is looking for personnel to support the existing complex during & after the redevelopment of the property. The facility was developed and remains family owned since 1952. Responsibilities include: • Operate engine powered lawn mowers, blowers, chipper shredders, chain saws, snow blowers, pressure blowers, de-thatcher, small generator, tiller, sump pump, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, hand/back-pack blowers, core-aerators, sweep-vacuums, man-lifts. • Performs routine ground maintenance of facility; mows lawns with push and/or riding mower, fertilizes lawns, trims trees and hedges, rakes leaves, trims weeds and cares for landscaping, sweeps and cleans walks and parking lots, picks up and hauls away litter and debris, removes snow from walks with shovel and/or snow blower, and keeps the outside premises neat and orderly. • Assist loading/unloading trucks which requires the possession of appropriate valid driver's license when moving the trucks; sets up and takes down tables, chairs, etc.; moves office equipment; carries moderate to heavy items up to 50 lbs. • Haul materials and equipment (interior/exterior). • Monitor trash collection including interior trash chutes/collection, exterior compactor & open container loading, and recycling. • Clear apartment of abandoned furniture during apartment move-out. • Occasionally perform routine interior custodial maintenance and repairs to buildings and structures. • Install amenities such as signs, pool furniture, etc. • Perform routine dog-park maintenance and high frequency safety inspections around the building exterior. Working as a team and under direction, apply playground wood mulch and make repairs to playground structures. • Snow removal (walkways); parking lot/ramp cleared by others. • Assist with transporting supplies and setting up special events. • Provide general assistance to residents and assist with programs and events. • Bi-lingual communication (English/Spanish) is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to use hand/power tools in a safe manner. • Requires the ability to lift and carry fifty pounds, i.e., heavy boxes, supplies, etc. • Requires being on feet for extended periods of time • Requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders to change light bulbs, paint, etc. • Requires being on hands & knees for extended periods of time to perform landscaping duties • Requires the ability to withstand temperature changes to shovel and/or plow snow, mow lawns, and perform exterior maintenance. • Requires exposure to a variety of landscape maintenance products.
