Rockport State Park and The Marina at Rockport are co-hosting an Ice Fishing Tournament January 23, 2021. We have some amazing prizes!! This year we are holding an Ice Fishing Tournament at Rockport Reservoir. The top three finishers will win a cash prize and everyone will have a chance to win some amazing raffle prizes. See prizes below. REGISTRATION: Registration will go from December 17th- January 23rd Registration for the event will be $30 per person. GRAND PRIZES: Here is how the grand prizes will be awarded. The grand prize amount will depend on how many people register for the event. The more people that register for the event the higher the grand prize total will be. Below is a chart of how the number of participants equals the grand prize total. Number of participants-- Grand prize, Second place, Third place 100 people -- 1st $450, 2nd $300, 3rd $150 200 people --900, 600, 300 300 people --1350, 900, 540 400 people—1800, 1200, 600 500people—2250, 1500, 750 600 people--2700, 1800, 900 700 people--3150, 2100, 1050 And so on with higher numbers of participants. Day of Event- The tournament will begin at 6am on January 23, 2021. The tournament will begin with the sound of a siren from the top of the Marina boat ramp. (There will NOT be a check-in. You may set everything up prior to 6am. However you may not drill your hole until 6am. If you are caught drilling before 6am you will be disqualified.) Your entry fee grants you access to the park. You may park in any of the open campgrounds and parking lots. MASKS: All participants must bring a mask and wear it whenever the participant is within six feet of another participant and whenever the participant goes into a restroom, are in the measure/weigh in line and park office. There will be masks at the entrance station for anyone who forgets their mask. There will be hand sanitization stations at the bottom of the boat ramp, at the restrooms and in the park office. FISHING HOLES: All participants are responsible for drilling their own holes.(Holes are not pre-drilled) Each participant's hole must be six feet apart from another participant's hole. POLES: You may use two fishing poles. SHELTERS: Ice fishing shelters are allowed. FISH: This tournament is only for Rainbow Trout. The tournament is for the longest Rainbow Trout. Tie breakers will go by weight of the fish. (If the top two fish are the same weight and length, the first and second place prize will be equally split between the two participants. If there is a tie with the second and third place fish, the second and third place prize will be equally spit between the two participants. Cash prizes will be mailed AGE: There is no age limit to this event. All participants have an equal chance at winning. WEIGH IN STATION: There will be a weigh in/measuring station at the bottom of the boat ramp. You must wear your mask while in line to measure your fish. There will be markings on the ground and staff to help everyone socially distance. You may bring in multiple fish to be measured throughout the day. Only your largest fish will be counted. All fish that are measured must be kept. All fish must be measured prior to 12:00pm (noon). If you are in line at 12:00 pm (noon) your fish will be measured. No one will be permitted to get in line after 12:00pm (noon) FISHING: All participants will follow all DWR rules and laws. Anyone caught breaking the law will be cited and forfeit their chance at winning a grand prize and raffle prize. All participants must possess a valid Utah fishing license. Only those who have entered in the tournament will be allowed to turn in fish. If anyone is caught catching a fish and giving it to another participant those two will forfeit their chances at winning a grand prize and raffle prize. All fish turned in must be caught the day of the event (Jan. 23, 2021)from Rockport Reservoir between the times of 6am-11:59am. RAFFLE: This year due to COVID and distancing regulations we will be announcing the raffle winners via Facebook live on the Rockport State Park Facebook Page and a PA System in the marina parking lot. This will take place at 12:30pm giving the people parked on the west side of the reservoir a chance to drive to the marina. Everyone will watch or listen from their cars that will be parked in the marina parking lot. Or you may go back on the ice and continue fishing and watch via FB live. All participants will be entered for the raffle drawing. When you register for the event your name is given a number. We will use a random number generator to determine the winners. The winners will go into the office, one at a time and pick out their prize. You must have a mask on while inside the office.
