Chess tournament fundraiser to help children with cancer. Exhibition games with chess prodigy and youngest ever GM Samuel Sevian.
The proceeds from the fundraiser will help provide essential treatments for pediadric cacer patients in Armenia.
Every year approximately 100 children in Armenia are diagnosed with cancer. Available cancer treatments are expensive and most of the middle to lower income families can’t afford quality treatment for their child. Given the social and economic crisis in Armenia due to the war and COVID19 pandemic, the families are struggling to support the treatment of these children. If we don’t help these patients, they will be forced to abandon the treatment, and many will not be able to start any new treatments.
Samuel Sevian is an American grand-master who gained notoriety as a chess prodigy. In 2014, he became the youngest ever-American to earn his GM title at 13 years, and still retains a top spot on the list of the youngest chess grand-masters overall. He’s also the youngest American national master and international master ever. Sevian became World U12 Champion in 2012.
