The 37th Annual Celebration of the National Holiday honoring Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. THE PURPOSE OF THE M.L.K. CELEBRATION COMMITTEE The purpose of the Dr Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration Committee of St Johns County, Inc is to commemorate and promote awareness of the many contributions made to society by Dr King in the struggle for Civil Rights. Also to award deserving high school students scholarships to continue his or her education at an institution of higher learning. To organize and support activities such as the Annual Commemorative Breakfast, to host activities in celebration of Dr King's Holiday, birthday and his other civil rights achievements, to conduct educational training and workshops dealing with civil rights, to enter into any kind of activity, and to make, perform and carry out contracts of any kind, in connection with, and necessary or related to, the accomplishment of the foregoing purposes of this Not-for-Profit Corporation.
