Press release from the City of Oak Creek: 11/25/2021 1:00 PM The Oak Creek Public Library is hosting a number of free programs for children, tweens, and teens during the month of December. Some of these programs require registration, and space is limited. Please see below for each program's registration start and end dates. Then, sign up by visiting the library's events calendar, in person at 8040 S. 6th St., or over the phone by calling 414-766-7900. Take Out Tween Fandom Crafters - "Steven Universe" Crystal Gems Magnets When you register for this Take Out program you will receive crafting materials to create your own Crystal Gems magnets from the television series "Steven Universe." This program is geared toward tweens in 6th-8th grade. We'll provide the main materials for this craft and you'll provide your imagination! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, December 4 through Monday, December 13. Registration begins Monday, November 22 and closes Friday, December 3.  Take Out Family Fun - Winter S.T.E.A.M. When you register for this Take Out program you will receive materials to do Winter S.T.E.A.M activities at home. This program is geared toward children ages 5-11. Only one family member needs to register. We'll provide the themed materials you provide the glue, scissors, crayons and your imagination! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, December 11 through Monday, December 20. Registration begins Monday, November 29 and closes Friday, December 10. Take Out Imagination Station – Train Station When you register for this Take Out program, you will receive materials to create a pretend play Train Station. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6. Only one family member needs to register. We'll provide the themed materials, you provide the glue, scissors, crayons, and your imagination! Program kits will be available for pick-up from Saturday, December 18 through Monday, January 10. Registration begins Monday, December 6 and closes Friday, December 17. Heartwarming Holidays Throughout the first half of December, check out themed books located on the display stand in the library's YA section. After you read one, tell us a bit about it by filling out a short review form, and we'll give you a hot chocolate mix and candy cane prize. Participants can turn in their forms at the 2nd floor service desk to receive their prize. This program is geared toward teens. Registration is not required.
