Press release from City School District of Albany: November 26, 2021 The City School District of Albany was notified Wednesday of six new confirmed cases of COVID-19. These individuals and their unvaccinated contacts are quarantining at home. Four of these cases are associated with Albany High School. Three cases involve 10th grade: In one of these cases, the individual was last in the building Nov. 22. The Albany County Health Department has identified 12 additional contacts with this case. However, only two are required to quarantine as the other individuals are fully vaccinated. In the other two cases, both individuals were last in the building Nov. 18. The health department has identified six additional contacts with one of those cases. Two of those individuals are not required to quarantine as they are fully vaccinated. The health department has identified no additional contacts with the other case. Albany High's fourth case is associated with ninth grade. The individual was last in the building Nov. 9 and the health department has identified no additional contacts. Another case from Wednesday is associated with Albany International Center. This individual was last in the building Nov. 19. The health department has identified six additional contacts. However, five of these individuals are not required to quarantine as they are fully vaccinated. The final case is associated with seventh grade at William S. Hackett Middle School. This individual was last in the building Nov. 16. The health department has identified no additional contacts. Health and safety procedures at all district buildings continue to include cleaning and sanitizing. We will continue with these procedures, and also will continue to follow all required COVID-19 precautions (wearing masks inside all district buildings, hand hygiene, social distancing of 3 feet or more in all classrooms, and other precautions). We also would like to remind everyone of steps you can take to help be safe: Signs of COVID-19 are: fever, fatigue/tiredness, muscle/body aches or pains, congestion, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, rash, feeling sick or unwell in any way.
