Hey, neighbors! Danielle Fallon here with the latest edition of the Burlington Daily. First, today's weather: Windy and colder. High: 31 Low: 19. Here are the top stories today in Burlington: The Fletcher Free Library was open to visitors looking for a place to a place to go this Thanksgiving. From 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., library staff and volunteers provided hot coffee, desserts, and a free meal. The library's partner, ShiftMeals, helped to provide more than 30 meals to people in the community. A similar event is planned for the Christmas holiday. (WCAX)After two years of deliberations, the Burlington City Council could approve regulations on short-term rentals — dwellings such as those advertised on Airbnb and Vrbo — as soon as next month. Councilors say the regulations would free up living space as the city faces a meager vacancy rate. They also hope to set standards for an industry that remains largely hidden from city officials' oversight. (vtdigger.org)For over 30 years, a downtown Burlington restaurant has given out free Thanksgiving dinners, no questions asked. This year, Sweetwaters packed around 1,700 pounds of donated turkey for those who want a hot Thanksgiving meal. Around 50 volunteers pitched in to help pack up the meals, which also included sides and fixings. The restaurant also packed up around 750 meals and delivered them to homeless shelters and assisted living homes around the community to ensure no one had to miss out on Thanksgiving.
