4 Arrested After Protest At Galleria Over EJ Bradford Death

HOOVER, AL — Three years after the Thanksgiving Day shooting death of EJ Bradford by a Hoover police officer, protesters at the Riverchase Galleria were arrested Friday. Hoover police arrested four people Friday morning, according to a WIAT report. Protesters at the Galleria were chanting, "Hoover killed EJ," and "Black lives matter," Friday while the mall was full of Black Friday shoppers. Satura Dudley, an activist who helped organize the protest, said Frances Wallace, Felicia Scalzetti, Dannie Plott and Chelsea Sims were the individuals taken into police custody, according to the WIAT report. Bradford was shot and killed on Thanksgiving in 2018 at the Galleria, after several shots were fired during an altercation that involved Bradford. Two people were shot, including an 18 year old man and a 12-year-old girl, both of whom recovered from their injuries. Bradford was seen with a gun by police and was shot and killed.
