Join Washington D.C. street photographer John Buckley for a book signing of "Pictures of U," his new limited-edition photobook. Pictures of U: Six Months In An Historic D.C. Neighborhood, is a celebration of life within a vibrant community, as a difficult winter -- set against a backdrop of COVID-19 -- gave way to an exultant spring. The book contains 68 black and white images within 104 pages, as well as two short essays on historic U Street and events affecting Washington during the first half of 2021. The book will be available for sale during the event. From late Autumn 2020 through Memorial Day 2021, Buckley used his Leica Monochrom to capture a street-level view of the neighborhood emanating from the corner of 14th Street and U Street NW. John Buckley's images from "Pictures of U" have been included in the 2021 15th Annual Exposed DC contest as well as Glen Echo Photoworks' Official/Unofficial: Photographs of Washington, D.C. exhibition, and his work has been included in numerous group shows and juried competitions. His photography typically showcases D.C. streets and Wyoming landscapes, although sometimes vice versa.
