Description
Ready to join us for happy hour ? What is the meaning of “Aperitivo Italiano”? An aperitivo (or apéritif) is often described as being similar to the American happy hour, but in reality, it’s much more than that. An Aperitivo is joyous and mood-lifting, it relaxes you after a day of work or prepares you for the night to come. Aperitivo, with its cheerful yet elegant nature, is a staple in Italy and has been getting more and more appreciated around the world. Join us on December 1 at the Milford House to taste four Italian wines from Veneto accompanied by small bites Italian-style. About the presenter: Mary Ann started her Italian journey with Brunello and Gavi as a young CPA. She worked in the accounting profession for 25 years, including such firms as Deloitte and Grant Thornton in their audit and international tax practices. Mary Ann travelled across Italy for over two decades, including a short-term professional assignment. Fast forward to 2015, her entrepreneurial spirit required over two years of independent research before initiating this new enterprise to bring small and boutique vineyard production and very select gourmet food specialty items to the tables of Texas. She sought small, boutique vineyards for her Houston tasting room that are representative of the type of wine varietal and terroir on which the grapes are produced. She’s applied her meticulous business approach to a curated selection of wines and foods. An almost evangelical approach has created an opportunity for Houston to (re) experience Italy at her Saturday tastings at TuttiLili. - The ICCC is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance. Experience Italy in the heart of Houston, Texas. The Italian Cultural & Community Center's mission is to advance, celebrate and preserve Italian culture and heritage through educational, cultural and social offerings for everyone: those of Italian descent, Italian expatriates living in Houston and Italophiles, non-Italians who are interested in Italy and its culture. It is our vision to be recognized as the Houston destination for all things Italian. The Italian Cultural & Community Center of Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
