CONNECTICUT — A new meteorologist recently joined the Fox61 team weekend nights, the station announced.
Ryan Breton, who also will report on science, climate and the environment during the week, most recently worked at WCSH-TV (NEWS CENTER Maine) in Portland.
Before that, he had stints at NH1 News in Concord, New Hampshire, and WCVB-TV in Boston as an intern.
Breton graduated from Penn State, one of the nation's leading atmospheric science programs, with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology.
In the below interview with fellow Fox61 meteorologist Matt Scott, Breton says he's excited to join the Connecticut station after having worked in northern New England.
"I grew up in southern New Hampshire, so snowstorms, nor'easters were huge there, and I actually spent the past four and a half years working for our sister station in Portland, Maine," Breton said. "I sort of have northern New England covered, so I'm excited to now cover southern New England."
In his spare time, Breton enjoys skiiing, golf and running, and he's a big fan of Penn State and the New England Patriots.
Thanks to the @FOX61News crew and @tvmattscott for the welcome this morning! Excited to be here and looking forward to getting started. https://t.co/jpIv3YRzSz #fox61 pic.twitter.com/Mvl6kND1HY— Ryan Breton (@RyanBretonWX) November 23, 2021
