Press release from the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce : John Baugher, Principal, Westminster HS 11/23/2021 WHS Student Qualifies for National Educators Rising Competition William Raynes, a sophomore at Westminster High School, has qualified for the National Educators Rising competition to be held in Washington D.C. in June.   Raynes' excellent showing in the Educators Rising Moment competition ranks him in the top ten competitors across Maryland. In his speech, he articulated why he is interested in pursuing a career in education and illustrated the power of being an educator.   Educators Rising National Competitions are performance-based competitive events in which aspiring educators demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and leadership in education. With a blend of individual and team events, competitions are authentic, engaging opportunities for rising educators to stretch their creativity, commitment, and professionalism.
