The Ujamaa Market is a biweekly multicultural market in the Capital Region highlighting minorities in business. The market will take place every other Sunday from 2-6 pm at 21 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY, 12209.
The Ujamaa market aims to combat the low success rate for minorities in business by creating an opportunity for business development. Drawing the name Ujamaa from the Swahili word for familyhood and the Kwanzaa principle for economic development, the Ujamaa Market is founded on these principles:
1. Familyhood. The Ujamaa Market strives to create a sense of familyhood and unity amongst people of color in business in the Capital Region. Entrepreneurs can learn, network, gain new experiences, and find strength and encouragement from fellow minorities in business.
