Press release from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office: November 25, 2021 Property crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office have booked two men into the Fresno County Jail and two teenage boys into juvenile hall. - Isaiah Mata, 18, of Clovis. He faces charges of robbery, attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and a gang enhancement. His bail is $2.3 million. - Francisco Leon, 18, of Reedley. He faces charges of robbery. His bail is $60,000. - 17 year old boy. He faces robbery charges. - 16 year old boy. He faces robbery charges. Around 9:00 pm on Tuesday, two people entered the AM/PM store located at the intersection of Hwy. 180 and Brawley Ave. in Fresno. One, armed with a rifle, fired a round into a wall. They robbed the clerk of cash and tobacco products before fleeing in a car. The employee made a report to the Sheriff's Office and deputies responded. They were able access surveillance video and get a description of the suspects' vehicle, which was a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. Around 2:00 am, the Sheriff's Office was notified of an armed robbery at the U & A mini-mart located at Hwy. 180 and Academy Ave. Four people had gone into the store, one armed with a rifle, and robbed the clerk of cash and alcohol. As a deputy responded to the store, he saw a car go speeding by. It appeared to be a Hyundai Elantra. A detective in the area attempted to make a traffic stop on the car, which was driving up to 100 mph. The driver refused to pull over. Assisting deputies set up spike strips, which the suspect ran over. The suspect continued driving with two flat tires. They eventually stopped in the area of Clovis Ave. and Huntington Ave. Four people got out and ran away. Deputies chased after them and were able to take all of them into custody. A search of their car, which was determined to be stolen, revealed a rifle and items taken during the robberies.
