Here are the top stories in Cincinnati today: A Cincinnati teen is helping others in need for another holiday season in a row. Ava McErlane, 14, has been collecting toys and money for kids at the Ronald McDonald House during the holidays since she was 11, after she herself spent a holiday season in the hospital. You can donate gifts or money until Dec. 13 so McErlane has enough time to get the toys to the Ronald McDonald House in time for the holidays."You're making kids happy, and that's the best feeling in the world," she said. (WXIX) Many families in the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden's neighborhood will have more on their tables this Thanksgiving thanks to donations from Zoo employees. They joined forces with the Avondale Community Council (ACC) about 10 years ago to help make Thanksgiving special, and in some cases possible, for Avondale families. In 2011, they served 7 families and last year, they served 1,050 families.
