Hi my name is Melissa and I currently live in California. I’m looking into the possibility of moving to Austin. I will be traveling there this January to check out the scene/city. I’m putting this up in hopes of finding band members, but open to meeting up with other musicians/songwriters as well. Looking for players that know the importance of listening when it comes to making great music - those who can add depth and backbone while leaving —-space—- for the song to breath and the vocals to shine. Please no “noodlers”; must be comfortable playing set parts. There can of course be room for improvisation and flow but there must be parts to rest the song on. If you can also sing harmonies that is a HUGE plus! I have a powerful, soulful and unique voice. I am a classically trained vocalist. I sang and competed in choirs ranging from showtunes to jazz to madrigals from when I was 12. I have completed years of vocal training and am currently working with one of top vocal coaches in the industry. I have over 15 years experience as a guitarist and songwriter. I am a skilled, award-winning songwriter that writes with heart. I play both acoustic and electric. I play both picking /plectrum and finger style. I have a great sense of timing and nuance.
