The Aztec Highland Games and Celtic Festival is the Four Corners region's premier event celebrating Cetic culture. The Aztec Highland Games and Celtic Festival is the Four Corners region's premier event celebrating Cetic culture through traditional athletic competitions, music and dance performances, clan representation, and food and merchandise vendors. Athletic events include the Sheaf Toss, Weight for Height (or Weight over Bar), Braemar Stone (or Stone Put), Light and Heavy Scottish Hammer Throw, Light and Heavy Weight for Distance (or Weight Throw), and Caber Toss. The two-day event is held in Riverside Park, nestled under the trees next to the beautiful Animas River in Aztec, New Mexico. It is with a heavy heart that the Aztec Highland Games & Celtic Festival committee has decided to cancel our 2020 event. We will dearly miss seeing all of you face-to-face this fall but due to the health, financial, and travel concerns brought about by the current COVID-19 pandemic, we feel the responsible choice is to throw our current efforts into planning an amazing 2021 festival!
