Cabaret Night at The Symposium is Presented by Studio West 117 and features Robert McMurray and Bryan Bowser, with additional performances by Laura Avdey, Mezzo Soprano, and students from the Nationally Acclaimed Baldwin Wallace Music Theatre Program.
This is your chance to see these young stars before they head to Broadway!! Recent graduates are currently performing in the Broadway and touring productions of HAMILTON, WAITRESS, LION KING, MEAN GIRLS, JAGGED LITTLE PILL, AIN’T TOO PROUD, GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY, DIANA, and MJ, the Michael Jackson musical.

Laura Avdey Bio: A native Clevelander, mezzo-soprano LAURA AVDEY has performed with The Cleveland Opera and Cleveland Opera Theater in many productions, including Charlotte in Werther, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro, I Puritani, Linda di Chamounix, Thomas, Rigoletto, and Norma.
Ms. Avdey has also performed in productions including Sweeney Todd, Carmen, Aida, Turandot, and Iolanthe, as well as performances with the Ohio Chamber Symphony, Summit Choral Arts Society, and The Ohio Chamber Symphony.
In addition, Ms. Avdey has been a featured soloist with the Opera in the Italian Garden in University Circle. She has been recorded on the Studio Ecoute label with The Old Stone Singers on their recording, Christmas With the Old Stone Singers and hasbeen heard on WCLV broadcasts. Ms. Avdey’s repertoire includes major works by Handel, including the title role in Handel’s Solomon, Bach, Vivaldi, Barber and Brahms.
Ms. Avdey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Business from Baldwin-Wallace University.
Ms. Avdey is also a cantor at St. Christopher Parish in Rocky River.
