SOUTH HILL, WA — The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is celebrating a successful emergency landing at South Hill's Thun Field.
According to deputies, a small plane had been flying over Pierce County when the pilot called in an emergency: his landing gear was stuck, and he needed to get down ASAP. First responders guided the pilot as he made an emergency landing at Thun Field at the Pierce County Airport.
Deputies have shared the dashcam footage below, showing the moment the plane touched down.
Fortunately, the landing went off without a hitch, and deputies say there were no damages to either the plane or the pilot.
