Description

DANBURY, CT — The city is seeking the public's input on how it should manage growth, make investments, and improve the quality of life for its residents. City officials will hold a workshop on Dec. 2 for "residents, employees, students, and travelers" to discuss their views on housing, economic development, open space and environmental resources, historic and cultural resources, transportation and infrastructure, city facilities and services, and sustainability. The workshop is part of the public engagement process for updating to Danbury's Plan of Conservation and Development, a municipal guide for managing growth and conserving resources. As required by Connecticut statutes, the city's Planning Commission is responsible for updating the POCD every ten years. The POCD was last updated in 2013. The POCD will address multiple issues related to stewardship of the city and provides a foundation for policy, capital investment, and zoning regulations. The workshop will be held Dec. 2, 6-8 p.m., at the Palace Theater, 165 Main Street, Danbury. Face masks are required. For those who cannot attend in-person, there will be an online workshop session, which covers the same content, on December 9, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. There is also a survey available on these topics in English, Spanish, or Portuguese online here.
