BROOKFIELD, CT — The holiday season will begin with a bang this Saturday, Nov. 27, with the return of the town's annual Christmas tree lighting. Residents can enjoy hot chocolate and cookies beginning at 4:45 p.m., along with caroling by the choir from St. Marguerite Bourgeoys church, at Brookfield Village. At 5:00 p.m., the action moves over to the Brookfield Funeral Home, where the lighting of the tree and a fire truck parade of lights will commence at 5:20 p.m. In 2020, the tree lighting — and visit from Santa — were "virtual," due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
