Press release from the City of Irving: November 24, 2021 Do not get tied up in knots this season, light up your holidays at Heritage Park. Celebrate the season with activities the entire month of December with free events the whole family can enjoy at the newly renovated Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St. Dec. 4 The annual holiday parade and tree lighting will take place, Saturday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.. The parade's theme "Rudolph, Light the Way" will showcase lighted floats down the streets along Second Street and Irving Boulevard in Irving's Heritage District. Residents also can take a stroll and view Centennial Park Holiday Lights Dec. 4-26. The park is decorated with 60,000 lights on the fences, trees and bridge, and walkways are lit on each side to keep pathways visible for visitors after dark.  Dec. 10 Bring the family out for a free showing of Elf (2003). Enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant  in the Heritage District or at a food truck that will be on-site. Make sure to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs. Dec. 11 Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to Irving to celebrate the holiday season with brunch. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with food vendors onsite. Family photos with Santa will be available after brunch.   Dec. 17 Bring the family out for a free showing of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). Enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant  in the Heritage District or at a food truck that will be on-site. Make sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Dec. 18 Gather family and friends to bring them to this all new event, Carol-oke. This first time event will take place on the Heritage Park Stage from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Bring the family to sing along or take the lead on your favorite holiday song.
