Press release from the City of Columbia Police Department: November 23, 2021 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                               CONTACT: Jeffrey Lampkin, PIO   (803) 381-2266 11/23/21 9:30 AM RICHLAND COUNTY, SC Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford is confirming that the body discovered at the Vulcan Quarry is that of the missing University Of South Carolina Student, Michael Keen, 22, of Columbia, SC. According to Coroner Rutherford, the body was discovered on Monday, November 22, 2021, less than a mile from where the victim was reported missing. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Michael's family, the USC family, and all affected by this tragedy. Michael was expected to graduate from the University in the next 3 weeks. His father referred to his son as his bestest buddy and his mother stated how she loves him very much. We are working with the Columbia Police Department to fully investigate this matter," Coroner Rutherford states.   This press release was produced by the City of Columbia Police Department.
