SAN JOSE, CA — A beloved San Jose cafe was victim to a break-in Wednesday morning, leaving their front glass door shattered.
Nirvana Soul, which has been open in downtown for a little over a year, was broken into around 7:15 a.m., San Jose police said.
On Twitter, the small businesses said luckily no one was in the store when it happened.
The business was closed at the time of the burglary and the cash register was stolen, police said. San Jose Police spokesman Sgt. Christian Camarillo called it a standard burglary — noting that it is not related to the retail thefts occurring around the region recently.
The cafe filed a police report and was able to clean up the storefront in time to open by 10 a.m. — three hours later than it typically opens. There is currently no suspect description as of noontime Wednesday, Camarillo said.
