Press release from East Aurora School District 131: November 23, 2021 East Aurora students and staff put on their jogging shoes for a 5K run along the Fox River and through the heart of Downtown Aurora on Saturday, November 20th. The 1st Annual Tom-A-Hawk Turkey Trot saw members of both East and West Aurora communities kick-off the season of thanks with a communal run put on by the A+ Foundation for West Aurora and the Aurora East Educational Foundation. Both organizations raise funds for the improvement of the public education experience for all Aurora students. Over 600 individuals took part in Saturday's race—an event that drives home the larger community message that we are One Aurora. The success of Saturday's event means it's already time for Tomcats to mark their calendars for next year—the 2nd Annual Tom-A-Hawk Turkey Trot will take place November 19th, 2022.
