BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Police Department is trying to identify the drivers of two vehicles that they say were involved in separate shootings in the city. A fatal shooting in April in the parking lot of the Walmart shopping center in Eastwood has still not been solved, and police are trying to identify a vehicle that was reportedly involved in the shooting. Tyrone King, an employee of the Birmingham water Works Board who was driving a company vehicle at the time of the shooting, was killed by multiple gunshots. Police said they believe King was targeted. The shooter's vehicle is described as a white Ford Fusion with a drive off tag. There is a dent on the bottom of the driver side door, according to Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department. The second vehicle sought by police was involved in a shooting November 18 in Avondale, where one of the victims was a 6-year-old child. Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham PD said 10 rounds were fired in the 4500 block of 5th Ave South, and two men and the child were injured. The car in question is a 2015 white Nissan Altima 4D with black wheels. The vehicle has a registered Alabama Nurses Foundation Personalized license plate reading JLPN. The vejicle was reported stolen Nov. 19. Anyone with information on either of these cases is asked to contact the Birmingham PD at 205-254-1764.
