29M guitar player and songwriter seeking to form a collective of like-minded musicians. If you play keys/synth, percussion, horns, strings (including guitar, bass), woodwinds, or are a vocalist—anything—I want to connect. Aside from childhood music lessons, I am self-taught. I cannot sight-read, but I understand musical concepts and can read music (slowly) if need be. I do not judge any lack of formal musical schooling—all I care about is creative vision, feel, and the ability to communicate musical ideas. I have recording software, and would like to collaborate on original compositions. Live performance is not primary for me—I’ve played enough mediocre music in mediocre spaces, and now I don’t want to compromise on quality. So the compositions must be strong, honest, and lovingly crafted. That is my only focus right now. Having shared musical taste is not as important to me as a shared desire to make beautiful music, but here’s a list of artists I’ve listened to the most, listed alphabetically, (not in order of how much I like them): Animals as Leaders, Anthony Green, As Tall As Lions, Bon Iver, Bonobo, Cast Spells, CHON, Circa Survive, City and Colour, Colour Revolt, Dear And The Headlights, Fleet Foxes, From Indian Lakes, Good Old War, Hrvrd, Jack White, Joe Pass, Julian Lage, Mannequin Pussy, Maps & Atlases, Paramore, Polyenso, Radiohead, RX Bandits, The Sound of Animals Fighting, This Town Needs Guns, Thrice, Underoath, The White Stripes I’m definitely missing some, but that was a cursory browse through my iTunes and Spotify.
