Each year, more than 600,000 individuals are released from state and federal prisons. Another nine million are released from local jails. Within three years of their release, two out of three former prisoners are rearrested and more than 50% are incarcerated again. "Rehabilitation" is a joke. If you truly believe otherwise explain the recidivism rate without a bunch of lib lies and unsupported "facts". 8% of American citizens are convicted felons, and another 25% have non-felonious criminal records. I hope you at least recognize that locking up that many people is impractical/impossible. Get ready for prisons in your backyard if you want to go down that route. We don't even TRY to rehabilitate prisoners. We send them to criminal school for years, and place them under so many restrictions as to make it near impossible for them to find legit employment when they leave. You really are so brainwashed you can't put facts together to reach a logical conclusion. 100 % of illegals broke a law just by the way they entered the country. Half of deportation orders are issued in absentia, at least a couple more felonies. Liberals pick and choose laws to enforce, claim illegals are 'displaced, undocumented'. Why do you ignore THAT? If government has no idea who they really are, where they really are, can't get them to show up at court appearances, how do they accurately track crimes involving illegals? No these studies use really good data, and NOT from sources that would be biased left of center. You take the arrest records and you take population data, and it's not very open to fudging. You seem to miss the fact that people at risk of deportation probably don't want to commit crimes that would lead to their deportation. "One of the reasons Texas keeps such fine-grained records on offenders is the federal government’s Secure Communities Program, which mandates sharing information on immigration status and is pitched as a way to deport criminals before they can commit more crimes in the United States". Source: https://news.wisc.edu/undocumented-immigrants-far-less-likely-to-commit-crimes-in-u-s-than-citizens/ "Our population data come from two sources. Annual information on the total population, the population of US-born citizens, the foreign-born population, and the number of naturalized citizens in Texas come from the US Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) 1-y estimates. Estimates of the undocumented population come from the Center for Migration Studies (CMS), one of the most reliable, respected, and peer-reviewed sources on the undocumented immigrant population (22, 23). Stated briefly, the CMS uses a residual methodology based on Census Bureau data, whereby the number of authorized immigrants is subtracted from the foreign-born population. The remainder, or residual, is then the estimated number of potentially undocumented immigrants. Several features of the CMS estimates are noteworthy. First, the CMS applies logical edits when calculating residuals (22) that serve as tools to identify as many legal residents as possible." source: https://www.pnas.org/content/117/51/32340 I don't think illegal immigration is good, to be clear. I just think it's silly how the right is ready to care way too much about it as soon as a dem is in office. "THE SKY IS FALLING!" (it's not) No, only a small fringe has been ABLE to defund the police. It was a very popular call from the left, it just turned out that most of America doesn't want bars on their doors and windows. You haven't actually spent much time in left leaning spaces like Reddit, have you? Most of the people in those spaces agree "defund was really unfortunate messaging for police reform". You shouldn't talk ammunition. When you admonish "in the case of self defense, only after de-escalation has been ruled out" then mention "7.62x54r is more my style" it's just another indication of how little life knowledge and skills you actually have. That in turn gives little credence to your opinions couched as facts. Lol, way to make assumptions. I collect Mosin Nagants - that's why I chose that cartridge. I even got into reloading for a while. I was simply poking fun at the ".9mm" typo. Are we allowed to have fun here, or is craigslist serious business?
