Hello, I'm looking for production assistants to work on projects decorating a popular bar / restaurant / lounge in the West Village. This is temporary freelance work that can turn into either a full time or part time job for the right person. The job is very physical, and involves being on your feet most of the day, lifting and carrying heavy objects and sheets of plywood (with assistance), and being up and down ladders for a few hours at a time.
People who've worked as carpenters or carpenters assistants are often the best for this job, rather than fine artists or people who do small crafts, unless they've done heavier work. This is production work, rather than a creative or design position.
Experience with using small hand tools, a heavy duty stapler, power tools, (especially a drill) is important.
I'm currently working on Winter Holiday decorating projects, and various small carpentry projects.
Applicants should have experience in some related areas, such as large scale craft production, floral work, carpentry, house painting, or any skilled work done manually. I can train people for production in areas they have no experience with.
The jobs are between 9 AM to 5 PM, sometimes a bit earlier or later, Monday to Friday, occasionally Saturday. We need to work overtime a couple hours sometimes also, but I usually know by early afternoon.
Please respond with :
- A note about your experience and the types of jobs you've worked permanently and freelance, You can include a resume with your note if you wish to.
- The types of tools and materials you have experience with
- Your current work schedule and availability
I'll only be responding to applicants who include all of this information.
Thank you, and happy holidays!!
