Description

"Getting into college doesn't have to be a chore to survive, but instead can be the reward for living a genuinely interesting life". This panel discussion will debunk the myth that students need to be involved in a plethora of activities, clubs and sports organizations and have perfect grades in order to be admitted to college. Author Cal Newport says in his book, How to Be a High School Superstar, "getting into college doesn't have to be a chore to survive, but instead can be the reward for living a genuinely interesting life". House of Shine could not agree more! Join us for a panel discussion with local guidance counselors, college admissions staff, and recent high school graduates as we discuss Newport's book and reimagining how we prepare young people for a successful college application process. This limited seating program is for parents of students in grade 7, 8, 9 and 10.
